There are three distinct types of powder actuated fasteners:

Low velocity

HILTI system (HILTI is a brand name)

Standard velocity (also known as high velocity)

 

We will not carry anything in the standard (high) velocity system.

 

We will carry fasteners to fit LOW velocity guns and Uniset fasteners to fit HILTI guns.  NOTE: we will not carry HILTI BRAND - - - but rather Uniset designed for HILTI guns.

 

Powder actuated fastener systems consist of a GUN (tool), FASTENERS (nails, pins), AND LOADS (shots, boosters).

 

Users include almost ALL construction trades.  The main purpose is to fasten:  WOOD to CONCRETE or STEEL & STEEL to CONCRETE or STEEL.

 

Types of fasteners:  pins (3/4” to 3”) and threaded studs we will only carry pins (both with and without pre-mounted washers)

 

Types of loads:  Different caliber for various tools;  Different colors for strength.

 

ALL FASTENERS AND LOADS ARE PRICED FOR A BOX OF 100.  If you are buying 100 fasteners, you are buying a quantity of 1.  For 1000 fasteners you are selling a quantity of 10.

 

TOOLS:

Standard (HIGH) velocity tools include:  SPEED, OMARK 330, PHILIP 330, RAMSET JOB MASTER

 

Low velocity tools include:  UNISET U-2000, UNISET U-1500, RED HEAD 721, RAMSET 4170, OMARK 721

 

HILILTI tools include:  DX 350 & DX 451 (uses 27cs loads), DX 35 (uses 25cs loads)

 

Odd products NOT available:  THREADED STUDS, DISC LOADS, METAL STRIP LOADS, HI VELOCITY FASTENERS AND LOADS.

 

BUYING THIS PRODUCT REQUIRES THAT YOU ASK YOURSELF THESE SIX BASIC QUESTIONS:

Do you use a powder actuated tool system (tool, fasteners, loads)?

Do you use low velocity, HILTI, or standard (HIGH) velocity tools?  NOTE:  IF YOU USE STANDARD (HIGH VELOCITY) THESE PINS AND LOADS WILL NOT WORK.

What is the tool model you use?

What length pins do you need (¾” to 3”)?

Do you use a standard pin or a preassembled washered pin?

Any standard low velocity is a “D” series pin

And washered low velocity is a “DW” series pin

Any standard HILTI type is a “DH” series pin

Any washered HILTI type is a “DHW” series pin

What color load (BOOSTER) do you need?  From least powerful to most powerful the colors are GREY, GREEN, YELLOW, and RED.
 

 

All of our fasteners (pins, nails) are made in the UNITED STATES by UNISET FASTENING SYSTEMS.  All loads (shots, boosters) distributed by UNISET  are manufactured by WINCHESTER/OLIN and are of the highest quality.

Material: modified, cold heading quality, ANSI 1062, or ANSI 1566 steel, Austempered to a Rockwell hardness of 52-55.

 

Surface of finish:  head and shank; 32 micro inches, point; 250 micro inches

 

Plating:  mechanical zinc plating with a thickness rate from 0.0002” to 0.0004”, Passivated with a blue Chomate solution

Federal specification:  plating OO-Z-325C; general quality FF-P-395B

 

ASTM specifications:  MATERIAL; ASTM A227 CLASS 1: PLATING; ASTM A164 TYPE RS; THREADED FASTENERS; CONFORM TO ASTM STANDARDS FOR ROLL FORMED FASTENERS

 

BEND TEST:  minimum 60° after heat treat; minimum 45° after plating

WARRANTY:  all warranties of the products described herein, express or implied.  Including the warranties of merchantability and fitness for particular purposes are specifically excluded.  Except for the following UNISET will repair or replace at its sole option any tool part, or fastener which within twelve months after sale by UNISET or its distributors, is found by UNISET to be defective in material or workmanship, normal wear and tear excluded.  This is the sole warranty of UNISET AND THE SOLE REMEDY AVAILABLE TO DISTRIBUTOR OR BUYER.
